Overseas Impact: Philippines

Little things make a big difference.
Take a look at our impact across Philippines below.

Root Cause: At just 49%, the Philippines’ female labor force participation in 2019 was one of the lowest in the EAP region. This represents a missed opportunity for economic growth and increased prosperity in the Philippines
TenTwentyKids aims to bridge this gap by providing women in the Phillipines an opportunity to gain employment and learn new skills.

Solution: We are a social enterprise that creates sustainable and handmade toys that celebrates the creativity of kids and the craftsmanship of Filipinos while providing jobs for marginalised women.

Impact: More than 3500 Toys crafted, 5000 Kilos of Fabric reclaimed and 5 Artisans employed

Root Cause: The textile industry has been regarded as one of the largest polluters in the world. Both the consumption and production of textiles generates a huge amount of waste.
Research has found that 35% of the microplastics found in oceans can be traced to textiles, making them the largest source of microplastic pollution in the world's oceans.

Solution: Barrio Studios is a textile recycling and manufacturing hub that helps businesses manage their pre-consumer textile waste through the collection, segregation and transformation of reclaimed fabrics into higher-value goods.
